Hollywood Park Jockeys Approve Gate Extensions HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., , June 29. — Members of the jockey colony at t Hollywood Park are unanimously in favor r of the starting gate extensions pioneered i at Hollywood and recommended their use 3 at all California tracks. Bert Thompson, Western manager of the J Jockeys Guild, made this announcement t following a meeting of the Hollywood 1 jockeys quarters late Tuesday. Thompson 1 made the following statement: "In a meeting of the Hollywood Park ■ riders in the jockeys quarters the subject ■ of whether or not they favored the gate e extensions was discussed. Three of the 25 5 riders had minor complaints about certain j features of the gate and these have been 1 rectified. "After a discussion, a vote on the extensions was taken and it was unanimously 7 approved that if the extensions could be used on all tracks in California it would be e a great help for the starts. The riders also 3 unanimously agreed that they would like, to 3 give further test to the Hollywood Park c gate extensions at Del Mar."
