Four of Six in Caproni Members of Distaff Side Downs Test Lures Raidicat, Grace Mae, Whirl Off, Harem Princess RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 2. — While there are only six entrants in the feature race here tomorrow, the select field is brimful of competition. The head-liner is a dash of six furlongs for four-year-olds and upward in which the contestants carry claiming tags of ,000 and j it is of interest that four of the sextet are members of the distaff side. The test is labeled the Caproni and it may be that Char-Mar Farms Grace Mae will show to advantage in the evenly balanced field. The daughter of Petrose has been a fairly consistent sort this season, tallying in four races and should retain that good form to give a good account of herself once more. She will likely have the saddle services »of Sammy Burnett. C H. Youngs Whirlaway filly, Whirl Off, gave evidence of present fitness when she scored rather impressively at the recent Beulah Park meeting. When right, she is a hard-hitting sort who could be troublesome against adversaries of this calibre. Bosox Jr., who races for the partnership of Fressie and Jones, comes recommended by a tally at Oaklawn Park and a similar effort here would have him right at hand. L. L. Sacketts Raidicat has a, victory this year to her credit and a score here by the daughter of Sky Raider would not occasion too much surprise. Best Scout,, from the stable of H. H. Price and Harem Princess who races for Reese Brothers, complete the Caproni field and while neither have been able to win this season they are not overmatched in company of this sort.
