TICHENOR IS TO HAVE A NEW; STRING. The racing stable of M. H. Tichenor and Co., which Henry McDaniel has successfully campaigned in California this winter, Is being disposed of at private sale. Tliis, however, does not mean that the local firm intends to retire from racing or that trainer McDaniel will sever his connection with the establishment, as was intimated in recent dispatches from Lexington, Ky. "All of the horses, witli the possible exception of Good Luck, will be sold it anything like fair prices can be obtained," said a representative of the firm yesterday. "Mr. McDaniel will leave Los Angeles for Memphis in about ten days and the young horses that Charles Hughes has been handling at Lexington will be sent to .Mr. McDaniel at Montgomery Park. Mr. Tichenor has certainly no dissatisfaction with the work of his trainer, for he has won twenty-two races in California in three months, among them being the California Derby at Oakland with Good Luck and the Rose Stakes at Ascot Park with Rubric. His winnings for these races foot up 0,355." In line witli the above a dispatch from Los Angeles last night reported the sale of Foxhall and Crowshade to William Walker. The price stated was ,CO0.
