With live winning choices at Kenilworth Park this afternoon, followers of favorites were in high glee. All but Earl Rogers and Money Muss won in easy fashion. These two had to stand the hardest kind of a drive to win. Earl Rogers victory came only after a sinew straining drive with Colonel Bartlett aud Solou Shingle. The track was fast up to the last race. Just before the horses went to the post the rain came down In torrents. The western division was in rare Torm, five of the six winners coming from stables which had been shipped here from west of the Alleghanies. The steeplechase proved an easy tliiug for Cardigan. J. O. Keeue left Monday night for New York to attend the yearling sales and in his absence Janiutt Boden is looking after his extensive string. M. J. Daly received word from Edward Corrlgan this afternoon that Claude, the greatest horse he ever owned, had died at 0 oclock this morning at the Corrlgan farm at Lexington. Last fall Claude got sore in the shoulders and Mr. Daly concluded to retire him to the stud. The horse kept improving and was as frisky as a two-year-old. He was turned out in one of the stallion paddocks this morning aud in bucking ruptured one of his intestines. After playing a bit Claude stopped suddenly and the attendant noticed that something was wrong with the horse. He was unable to get him out of th paddock aud Claude expired in a few moments.
