Frank Lord was in close quarters and lost ground in the early running, but finished with a great rush through the stretch and won going away. Al Powell, from a good start on th? outside, was in the best going and had clear sailing, crowded everything in reach on the turn and in the stretch and saved a lucky second place after forward contention throughout. Russell T. came fast from the rear on the inside and ran a good race. Joe Fallcrt, nearly left, closed a tremendous gap and ran a remarkable race. Fay forced the early pace, then tired In the last quarter. Master Lester was pulling up at the start and cantered the remainder of the journey and his race should be thrown out. Ablngton finished well up. Dele Strome was shut off at the start and made up a lot of ground afterwards, but had no chance. Scratched 02905 Woodwitcn, 90; Allouby, 102. Oro, skillfully reserved in the early running, moved up rapidly whin beginning the last turn of the field and caught Delcanta tiring, getting up in the last stride to score a lucky victory. Delcanta, under an ill-judged ride, was scut along from the start to dispose of Balzac and, after shaking the latter oft at the end of five furlongs, tired at the end and was much the best. El Cuchillo, luckily placed throughout, challenged the leaders in the last half and but for meeting serious interference on the last turn might have wou and ran a cracking race. Monet, from, a flying start, ran lapped on the pacemaker to the far turn, where he was crowded back and lost ten lengths, then came with a cyclonic rush at the end and got up in the last stride. Sewell, from a tlatfooted start, ran in close quarters throughout the journey, was best and ran a wonderfully fast and game race in the worst going. Diamond Flush, from a striding start, was ridden all over the track and interfered with Imth Monet and Sewell and succumbed right at the end under a weak ride. Nannie Hodge had a flying start and developed superior early speed at the weights, but failed to stay. Nlcetas finished well and is worth remembering. Dishabille palpably outclassed the others in the going, was held at the post and broke badly, but was reserved within striking distance of the paeemaker to the last turn, where she moved up and, after colliding with the bolting leader, came on again and won as her rider pleased. Garnish was badly Interfered with and carried out by Water Tank but, finishing fast and gamely, earne4 second place. Ormondes Right, away well, was able to hold his position, although outpaced for the first six furlongs, and finished well, but is a confirmed sulker. Water Tank displayed suiverlor sied and stamina and but for bolting on the last turn would have been closer up. John Lyle was hopelessly outrun throughout. Grenade raced into a good lead in the first quarter and lired at the end in consequence, but was much the best. Lady Ellison ran in strenuous pursuit of the leader throughout and finished wearing hlni down at the end. Palette, suddenly improved, showed amazingly improved stamina, finished fast and earned an easy third place. Aurumaster found the journey too short and was gaining at the end. Janeta displayed brilliant early speed, but tired badly in the last quarter of an extra good effort. Del Carina can do better. Nathan Hnle received a flying start, but was taken back and reserved in a forward position to the stretch, where he passed Into-the lead and only succumbed to the favorite after a long stretch drive. Saylor, suddenly improved, set the pace under a pull for six furlongs in the deepest going, tiring in the last furlong of a promising effort. Milestone ran forwardly and gamely throughout, but was evidently not good enough. Marklc Mayer got away badly and closed a big gap. Royal Sceptre showed fine speed for nearly seven furlongs. and quit suddenly. Sprakers also went a good six furlongs.
