BR00KLINE ENCOUNTERS BAD WEATHER. The Brookliue Country Club encountered bad weather ou the last two days of its annual meeting near Boston. Thursday last was the opening day and the weather was fine, but on Saturday and Monday it rained; yet the attendance is reported to have been remarkably good, since rain has about the same effect on a gathering at Brookline as it would have on a lawu party. The racing wag generally good and the club Is far from being discouraged with the general result! .Some improvements will be made before the next .meeting. It is planned to widen the main track on the backstretch. which will give better facilities for handling big fields in the races at three-quarters of a mile. There was no betting at Brookline this year, the laws of Massachusetts being rigidly enforced.
