"KRIKS" PRESENT TO G. BURNS. When little Guy Burns, a young brother of jockey Tommy Burns, returned to the jockey room at Gravesend after riding Jack McKeon to victory in the race for "Maiden Jockeys," Monday last, II. C. Crickmore, the veteran clerk of the course, called the lad over to his desk. "You rode a good race, son," he said to little Burns. "You rode like a real jockey and Im proud of you. Now Im going to make you a little present heres five dollars-ami dont you ever forget tiie 18th of June, 1900." Critics say that the youngsters riding marks him a boy of coolness and judgment. Tommy Burns was in high glee over his brothers success and as a memento of the occasion fitted him out with a new suit of clothes.
