THE BARDS MATING FOR 1906. Lexington, Ivy., July 7. The Bard, now located at Woodburn Stud, was mated to fourteen mares this season. He is now twenty-four years old. One of the noted mares bred to him this year was Los Angeles, now twenty-one years old. She has at her side a handsome chestnut suckling colt by him. She is owned by J. T. Chauley a wealthy contractor of Jersey City. Other breeders who sent mares to The Bard this year were Karl Jungbluth and Perry Belmont. August Belmont wrote William Steele, who has the great horse in charge for A. J. Cassatt, that had lie known t-arlier The Bard was in Kentucky, he would" have sent several mares to him.
