EASTERN RACING Of THIS WEEK. The splendid Sheepshead Bay meeting will conic to an end Tuesday and the midsummer meeting of the Brighton Ilea eh Racing Association will open Wednesday afternoon. It will be a racing week replete with Interest and in its course two of the greatest events of the year, the Lawrence Kcaliza-tion and the :5.000 Brighton Handicap, will pass into turf history. The main feat tire at Sheepshead Rav tomorrow will he the running of the ISay Ridge Handicap at a mile hurt a quarter, the names of the probable Ktarters appearing in tills issue of Pailv Racing Form. Tuesday, the last day of the June meeting, will bring nlxnit the decision of the second half of the Double Event and the valuable Lawrence Realization. All of the crack two-year-olds that contested the Jirst half of the Double Kvent are of course eligible for the second half and n list made up of Oraii, Water Pearl, Charles Edward, Ktlion, Ballot, Peter Pan. .Superman, Sewell, Bat Masterson, Faust and Fauinonok will probably furnish the winner. The Lawrence Itealization is the crack event of the east for three-year-olds and should he contested this year by an unusually large tield of speedy young horses. No three-year-old stands out alone this year as Sysonby did last year and while the championship is yet to lie decided there is no reason apparent why Accountant, Arklirta, Kuroki, Bohemian, The Quail, Ormondale, Vendor, Inquisitor and Perverse should not go to the post with outside possibilities in Bridgeman, Clark Grithth, Entree. Kast End, Jacobite, Ilolscher and Penrhyn. Unluckily Sir . Huon and Flip Flap are not eligible and Timber is reported laid up because of an Injury. Seemingly no less than ten should start and a line race is in prospect. At its first running, this event had nine starters. This has twice been equalled, but never exceeded, so that if ten starters should muster at the barrier, it would be a new mark in Lawrence Itealization history. Last year only four started, but then the all conquering Sysonby stood in the way. Soprami, Clare Kussell, Dulcinea, Beinay, Adoration, Rarbary Belle, Barihgo, Froward, Saghalien, Yankee Girl and Dollie Dollars, besides a long list of dark ones, among them being Onnondales more than half sisler Belle of Ormonde, a bay lilly by Orsihi Santa Bella. The Brighton Mile Is a weight for age affair and with Santa Catalina, Flip Flap. Minnie Adains, Tokalon, Whimsical, Hamburg Belle, Security, Kuroki. Bohemian, Ormondale, Tradition, Halifax, Inquisitor, Bains .Horn and Gallavant all ellgble, it Is apparent that, if the day is fair and the track at its best, a rapidly run mile will In? reeled oft. The Jamaica Stakes, a selling dash of six furlongs for three-year-olds and over will lie the feature of Thursdays racing. Aeronaut, Halifax, Diamond, Glorifler, Nannie Hodge, Dreamer, John Sumlskl, Pantouile, Sly Ben, Security, Burleigh. Delagoa,. Toots Mook, La Sorciere, Inquisitor. Fireball and Alencon being among the speedy ones nominated. Fridays program is. wholly of purses. Besides the Brighton Handicap, the Punchestown Steeplechase will be run off Saturday afternoon. It Is over the short course of about two miles with Champs Ely-sees, Flying Buttress. Kernel, Sandhurst, Jimmy Lane, Alamansor, Grandpa, Tom Cogan, Phantom, Black Hussar. Pontotoc, Ben Crockett, Balzac, Game Cock and Couimondale among the timber toppers engaged. The Brighton Handicap being of the guaranteed value of ?25,000, is the most valuable American handicap and Is sure to he contested by a fine field made up from Go Between, Barns Horn, Dolly Spanker. Perverse, Inquisitor, First Mason, Cairngorm, Ormondale. Kiamesha. Merry Lark, Bulls Eye, Dr. Leggo. Kuroki. Bohemian, Dandelion, Hamburg Belle, Whimsical, Tokalon, Knight Errant, Agile, Flip Flap, Tiptoe and Glorl-lier. There is material for a grand race here, but it is not likely that Broomsticks record made in this event, of 2:02J for a mile and a quarter, will be eclipsed.
