"DIAMOND JIM" BRADY BUYS FOUNTAINBLUE Pays 5,000 Cash for the Son of Oddfellow Sale Makes Horace E. a Bargain, New York, August 1. Fountalnblne, the two-year-old chestnut colt, by Oddfellow Ferrol, was sold today at private sale by F. A. Forsythe to "Diamond Jim" Brady for 5,000. cash. Mr. Brady aqted on the advice of Matt Allen, his trainer. The withdrawal or the fleet colt from the Sunshine Stakes on this afternoons card was therefore no surprise, although it was universally conceded to have been a gift for him, this being in line with the Kid Glove policy of the old fashioned trainer. Fountainblue has all the earmarks of a great racehorsespeed, stamina and courage to a superlative degree, size, faultless conformation and robust constitution, lie has three Important and valuable fall engagements this season, the recently closed Flatbush, Great Eastern and Triumph Stakes, and the best judges consider him a great bagrain at the pri-e. Barney Schrelber, owner and breeder of that other western wonder, Horace K., which, on two different occasions had taken the measure of Bradys purchase, wishes to lie quoted as saying that "if Fountain-blue is worth 5,000, Horace E. is worth 5,000, as lie is immeasureably the suierIor class colt of the two and has proved it in two stakes truly run."
