NOTES OF THE TURF. John Dyment of Canada, recently sold Tongorder and Simon I, to J. J. Walsh. Tom Burns kid brother, Guy, riding for It. F. Carman, is the latest idol of the eastern jockey slop and slobberers. Dainty Dame Is at Latonia from Norfolk, where she was shipped to race, but came back without taking part iu the trouble there. The eastern bookmakers have done pretty .well since the latter part of the Saratoga meeting and have all won heavily at Gravesend. Walter Graters crack filly Dora Neff, twisted her ankle recently and will not be trained any more this season. Lady Vie also met with an injury, which lays her on the shelf. Barney Schreiber says of the Sir Hercules youngsters now coming on: "In losing Sir Hercules I lost a very good horse." His youngsters coming on will make such a showing that this statement will he verified. Earl Carrington, presiding at a luncheon at the Cuiltern Hills Agricultural Show at High Wycombe, England, a day oc. two ago, said as regarded horses there were 10,000 fewer foals bred this year than last. This was a question of national importance, and if the state of things continued it must prove a positive danger to the community.
