Ocean Spray was always prominent in the going and, in a close finish, outgamed Royal Onyx for second place. Royal Onyx, after closest pursuit of the flying leader, tired in the final drive, but held on resolutely. Ballot Box ran a very bad race and can do much better. Guardian II. ran and fenced well, but tired and was pulled up after taking the last jump. Bob Murphy was also pulled up when plainly beaten. Fivlng Airglnian fell over the twelfth jump, but was remounted and finished.
