Grace George, running to her best form and well ridden, wore Zinfandel down in the first quarter and then came away to win cantering. Zinfandel broke well and showed improved form, but was weakly ridden and was no match for the winner. Raining Leaves closed a big gap gradually and finished gamely. Sylvan Belle came from a long way back and, with a faster beginning, would have been a dangerous factor. Javanese broke well, but was blinded by the mud and ran against the fence several times in the last quarter and Dearborn was forced to ease him up. Martlus ran poorly and can do much better. Coinmunipaw, running to his best form and favored by the going, ran into a long lead at once and was iiever in serious danger of defeat. Dog Rose ran into second place early and, although tiring fast near the end, had enough in reserve to stand off St. Noels challenge. Tbe latter trailed far back for tbe first three-quarters and finished gamely. Rebounder ran in improved form. Sea Salt lacked speed and ran poorly. Tackle had no mishaps, was away forwardly and showed the most speed for live furlongs, but tired badly in the last furlong. Milford, poorly ridden, came fast through the stretch and ran in Improved form. Severus ran poorly and tired near the end. Water Cooler gained steadily from a slow beginning and finished with a rush. Little Lighter, away slowly, saved ground throughout and running to bis best form, wore the leaders down steadily and, taking the lead in the stretch, won in a canter. The Minks, badly outpaced for the first three-quarters, came with a rush through the stretch and wore Jersey Lady down in the closing strides. Jersey Lady showed the most speed early and, favored by her light Impost, ran a good race, but tired near the end. Colonel Jack, poorly ridden, ran far below his best form and can do better. Ed Kane, also favored by the going, ran forwardly all the way and finished fast. Linda Lake had no mishaps and, better ridden, would have been closer up. Ketchemlke was knocked back at the three-quarters post, but ran a bad race. AYhlsk Broom had a rough trip. Ausonia was never a contender and was pulled up after goiug three furlongs.
