TACOMA TO HAVE RACING. Robert A. Ililler, a Tacoma, Wash., turfman, is the leading spirit in a movement to establish a race track at Tacoma. The Pacific Traction Company, which operates the street railways of that city, Is backing the plan and proposes to build the racing plant on a 10S acre tract of level land which it owns, at American Lake, near South Tacoma junction. To further the project the Tacoma Racing Association has been organized, with Elmer J. Felt as president and Robert A. Hiller as general manager. Hiller will go to Oakland to confer with T. II. Williams relative to recognition for the new track by the Pacific Jockey Club. It is planned to have the plant ready for racing by next summer. .Dates will be arranged so that there will be no conflict with Seattle aud Spokane.
