Purslane, off badly, closed up fast in the last quarter under a drive, and won going away. George S. Davis acted badly at the post, but was away well, ran a good race and finished gamely. Troublemaker ran his usual good race, closed a gap and finished fast. Robin Hood was knocked back, then made up gvound rapidly. East End was speedy, but tired from following the early pacemaker. Rockstone showed tlie most early speed, but tired and quit badly in the stretch drive. Frank Lord retired early and can d6 much better. The winner was entered for 1,000; no bid. Dorantc ran to his liest form, followed Rialto closely and held on to third place all through the stretch. FaJcada was going fast at the end, but could not get up. King Sol ran a fairly good race, but was tiring at the end. Live AVire ran an unaccountably bad race that should be thrown out.
