FARRELLS CRACK COLT THRIVING. Jim Gaffney, the two-year-old full brother to Golden Maxim, has been retired to winter quarters, where he is getting prodigiously fat. The colt is expected to do great things as a three-year-old. and gives better promise of being a greater horse than did his celebrated brother at the same age. He has been entered in all of the stakt-s for three-year-olds which have closed, and other engagements will he made for him during the winter. Farrell has not yet succeeded in securing the services of jockey Shaw for next season, but hopes to 8t bini to ride the colt in all of Ills races next year.
