CLOSE CALL FOR FONTELIEU. New Orleans, La., December 12. A. Fontelieu, the bookmaker, barely escaped being killed while , returning from the Fair Grounds late last night. . On Esplanade Avenue the tongue of a wagon struck the horse he was riding and threw him to the . ground. Fontelieu retained his grasp of the reins , and was dragged several yards before stopping ; the horse. He was only slightly bruised and disheveled by the experience.
