Nine Spot, away slowly, gained in the middle half and loomed up on the last turn, but quit in the closing drive. Chancellor Walworth ran in keen contention for live furlongs. The others ran poorly. Sea Air, away poorly, made up ground quickly, held a striking distance position all the way and finished fast with a belated rush. Tarp, badly ridden, was a prominent contender throughout and is extra good. Bertie A., from a striding start, established a quick lead, but bore out on the last turn and quit badly in the closing drive. Ambitious set the early pace and quit unexpectedly. Silver Wedding finished well. Mabel Hollander seemingly disliked the going. The winner was entered for 1907.sh00; no bid. Burleigh set a tremendous pace from the first stride and easily shook off all opposition when straightened for home. College Widow, always luckily and forwardly placed, linished with a belated and cyclonic Iush. St. Francis succumbed after a half mile of strenuous effort to head the favorite and ran a good race. Senator Warner, outrun early, finished fast next to the rail in bad going. Joe Nealon began slowly, but made a whirlwind finish, going fastest of all and is very good. Sister Frances Is out of place In sprints and will do to watch. Merritt Buxton had no chance with his rider and is a good looker.
