Richard Reed outclassed his opposition, drew out quickly and won all the way. Shapdale ran in forward pursuit of the pacemakers throughout and was a lucky second. Hoffman, under a bad rider and from a slow beginning, had a rough journey and, overcoming early interference, closed a big gap into a fast going and close lip third. Mauviette ran in nearest attendance for the lirst half and quit badly. Yankee Daughter, from an inside slow beginning, closed an immense gap in a cracking effort, but is out of place in sprints. Dander, nearly left, made up much ground. Cordova finished close up. J. II. Reed improved his position. Red Mimic was in close early quarters. Belleek quit badly after showing brief early speed. Evening Song drew out quickly and, setting the pace, came away further after crowding those in nearest pursuit at the half, then just lasted the journey and was lucky. Helen Carroll, on the inside in close quarters and crowded out by the leader in the first quarter, could never quite get up after that, but was best. Madeline L. steadily improved her position into a close up and fast going third. Zephyr, shuffled to the rear at the start, trailed to the stretch and was gaining at the end. Top Notch ran forwardly to the stretch and quit. Love Watches showed superior early speed, hut was shut off by the leaders. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched S3492 Radium Star, 104. Pins and Needles broke slowly and was i outpaced from the start, loomed up midway of the stretch, but quit finally and acted sourly. Juggler trailed in the early running and came fast in the stretch.
