LAST OF THE PIRATE OF PENZANCES. Lexington. Ky., August 20. There are two crops-of foals by Pirate of Penzance, younger than Crystal Maid. Of the registered foals of 1907 there were eight by Pirate of Penzance aud they included Jack Straw. Gallant Pirate, Swift MacXeill and Glen Helen. Of the registered foals of 190S now yearlings, seven are by Iiratc of Penzance, as follows: Brown colt out of Aquila, owned by Colonel Milton Young: chestnut filly out of Decimal, owned bv George B. Ott: bay filly out of Lady J., in the stable of Oots Brothers: bay colt out of Hue and Jirmyn filly out of Pocahontas, owned by Sanford C. Lyne: bay filly out of Mocking Bird IV., owned by Jenkins and Keister, and chestnut filly out of Catherine Of Xavarro, owuc-d hi- Young Brothers. These yearlings are the last of the get of the famous old son of Prince Charlie and Plunder, by Buccaneer. Pirate .of Penzance, at the age of 20. was too infirm for further usefulness and Colonel Milton Young had him humanely destroyed at McGrathiana Farm last year.
