Moquette is the star handicap development of the Saratoga meeting, and on this occasion climaxed a series of successful local efforts with a particularly meritorious victory in the mile and a ipiartcr handicap. The symmetrical son of lieu Ilolladay, with lis pounds up, had a trio of lightly-weighted opponents of good calihcr Gliding Belle, Tito Peer and Xadzu to contend witli over the stllf course. Instead of making the running, as he lias been in the habit of doing, Ioqu-;ttc became the victim of waiting tactics and resultant interference which so handicapped his progress in the race that he only got up to win in the last stride of a thrilling finish.
