STAKES TO BE DECIDED IN TEXAS. Dallas Will Have Thoroughbred Racing This Fall in Spite of Adverse Legislation Last Winter. Dallas, Tex.. September 10. Notwithstanding that legislation was enacted in this state last winter adverse to the thoroughbreds, four stakes of the value of ,000 each will be hung up for tbe thoroughbreds during tlie ten days of racing in connection with the state fair to be held In this citv October 16-31. One of these is a Futurity for two-year-olds bred in Texas, by members of the Texas Thoroughbred Association. Nominations for this event closed February 1. 1907. Plate to the value of 00 will be added to the cash that, the winner will receive. The other three stakes; which closed August 31 with a goodly list of entries. Include one race for two-year-olds and two for three-year-old.- and upward.
