LITIGATION OVER ESSEX PARK. Hot Springs. Ark.. September 10. Essex Park, once famous as a race course and recently sold to Simon Cooper, a local livery man, is to be made the subiect of an interesting bit of litigation, with preliminary papers in the suit already made a matter of record. The race course originally was owned by William McGiiigan. then a well-known racing man, and bis wife. Six years ago it was sold to Rome Rospess and Judge J. B. Sidenor. from whom Cooper bought. Now McGiiigan lias filed suit to regain possession of tlie property, asserting that a clause in the original bill of sale provided that if the owners failed to conduct race meets amiually on the track for ten years, possession and income were to revert to McGiiigan. Revenue to the extent of 00 annually, which the track now earns as a pasturage, is also claimed by McGiiigan.
