The wager on the Hlldreth entry won and there, is no reason why it should jiot be paid. The bookmakers contention is absurd and appears, very much like, welshing. W. M.. Memphis, Tenn, The stipulation. "George W. Lebolt to go" saved the bet and made it a draw, the meaning of the stipulation being that George W. Lebolt was to go as a part of the Bedwell entry or no bet. T. A. W Cincinnati, 6. An entry is one or more horses. Usually when an entry is backed it means a coupled entry of two or more horses, but not necessarily. The liookmaker accepted that bet. it won. and he should pay it. Had one of the horses failed to run second, it would neven have occurred to him to return Righteasys proportion. 11-X, Cincinnati. O. The wager lost. When one backs a single horse of a coupled entry, bis wager is decided by the running of that horse, and If it chances to be scratched he has a draw, regardless of where the. other horse of the entry finishes. However, the practice is not uniform and some haiulbookers pay such wagers as yours, but do not allow tint .draw.-
