RACING COMMISSION MEETS SATURDAY LEXINGTON, Ky.. September 11. Chairman .7. N. Camden has called a meeting of the Kentucky State Bacing Commission to be held here Saturday morning. Tin question of greatest moment to be considered will be the proposal of the Kentucky Jockev Club management that the purses for Iouisville average ,000. and those for Latonia average ,200. This represents a decrease per race of SLOO at Louisville and 00 at Latonia by comparison with last spring. The horsemen who are contending against the proposal maintain that in the face of the large earnings of the Jockey Club it is not justified and that there has been no corresponding decrease in the cost of stable maintenance and operation since spring and none likely this vear. The purses at Lexington are to average 00," the same as in the spring, and there is no complaint on the part of horsemen as to this meeting, wliich never has been able, because of the difference in population, to earn as much as Louisville and Latonia. J. O. Keene. member of the commission, returned this afternoon from Toronto.
