RACK RAY started to swerve out on the last turn and came to the extreme outer rail in the stretch, losing much ground, then closed a big gap in the last quarter and probably was best. KWONESHEE was saved behind the leaders for the first turn of the Held and easily disposed of AVELDSHIP. The latter was hard held for the first mile and raced JAY RIRI into defeat, but tired badly in the last quarter. JAY RIRI showed speed and fenced in good style, but tired as if short. The latter, on the outside of the leaders all the way, finished fast and gamely under punishment. HERODIAS displayed excellent speed in pacemaking for three-quarters, but tired badly in the stretch. The latter moved up menacingly at the eighth post and took the lead, but tired in the closing strides. BREAD LINK closed up steadily and easily disposed of STARRY BELLE. The latter had no mishaps. LOVERS LANE II. quit badly after setting a fast early pace. TIIISTLEDON showed the most early speed, but tired in the final eighth and just lasted long enough to withstand WAR MACHINES challenge. The latter raced wide all the way. but closed up rapidly when put under punishment in the last eighth. CLAQUER ran well for three-quarters, but tired and may have been short.
