LUCULLITE WINS AQUEDUCT HANDICAP Scores Popular Victory Before Xargo Crowd Double Success for S. C. Hildreth and Jockey Fator. NEW YOBIC. N. Y.. September 20. About the largest crowd of the present meeting was present at Aqueduct today. A good Saturdays program was decided, in which results were fairly formful. The Aqueduct Handicap, worth ,1100 .net, was the feature, but only three horses out of six named to go started, they being Lucullite, Star Master and Corn Tassel. It proved to be another victory for Lucullite, which, sliowihg his usual high speed, led throughout and at the end was two lengths in advance of Corn Tassel, running within two-fifths of a second of the track record for the mile and an eighth. Lucullites victory was a popular one, ho being a well-backed choice- and when Fator came back to the stand lie received an ovation from the big crowd. The Oneck Stables Edwina accounted for the first race, which was for "maiden -two-year-olds. She ran a good race and won easily. Stonewood was best in the steeplechase and won accordingly, while Lunetta scored the first victory for the stable of J. J. Hallenbeck in some time when she took the measure of the speedy Masked Dancer in the third. Several claims were made after the running of the first race, Kilwiuy. the winner, being retained .by the Oneck Stable for ,500. Iivcrs Lane II. was retained by her owner for ,750. Cock o the Boost was bought in by owner Tighe for ,500, and Dunsamlel went, to J. J. Fitzgerald for ,200. Arrah Go Ons success in the fifth race made it a double for S. C. Hildreth and jockey Fator. Wee Louise graduated from the maiden ranks in winning the final dash of the afternoon. Herodias injured her shoulder as a result of running into the fence while exercising this morning.
