PRAISE FROM ARMY OFFICERS The following acknowledgment was presented to Thomas E. Bourke, secretary of the Illinois Jockey Club, by Colonel C. E. Hawkins, head of the U. S. Army Remount Service, Monday afternoon: "AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. "To Thomas E. Bourke, secretary and press agent of the Illinois Jockey Club: I wonder if thoroughbred horsemen and the state of Illinois recognize the sterling worth of the above-named gentleman. "The Illinois Jockey Club and the Hawthorne Racing Association are most fortunate in obtaining the services of such an energetic, tireless and efficient secretary in furthering the interests of racing and the thoroughbred horse in the state of Illinois. "He has been appointed official representative of the American Remount Association for the state of Illinois, with headquarters at 914 Garrick Theater Buliding, Chicago, 111.
