ENGLISH WINNING OWNERS Lord Woolavington Has Good Lead With 55,350 Donoghue Heads Jockeys. LONDON, England, September 23. Lord i Woolavington, with 55,350 to his credit up to the end of Wednesdays racing, now appears to have a safe lead on the winning English owners for the year. This will be ! the first time he has headed the list, although 1 he has been keeping thoroughbreds and investing money in bloodstock ever since he won his first race in England with Little Red Rat at Newmarket October 25, 1899. The next six winning owners to date are: " Lord Derby, 9,460; Sir George Bullough, 2,065 ; Lord Lonsdale, 9,670 ; Lord Astor, 0,125; Somerville Tattersall, 9,370, and Lord Quecnbbrough, .S,050. Lord Lonsdale, who so unexpectedly won l the Doncaster St. Leger with Royal Lancer r and on Wednesday took the Irish St, Leger, , which is worth 1,550, with the same colt, , has never occupied as prominent a position on the winning owner list before. A third 1 of the winnings of Royal Lancer and also those of Diligence go to the National Stud, , from which the horses are leased. Among the jockeys Donoghue still remains ahead, but he will have to wake up, for Elliot is not many victories behind him. Added to this, Stephen is unlucky just now, and is not riding his usual number of f mounts. For instance, last week at Don-caster he only had thirteen rides and no winner, and although he had but two winners at the same meeting in 1921 he rode upon twenty-two occasions.
