In the event that the Tanforan spring meeting, which is said to be planned by the officials of the Pacific Coast Jockey Club, docs not start until April the Culver City period of racing will be completed in one meeting. The management of the jockey club is thinking of building a polo field inside the race track in older to furnish a suitable place for William Russell, Tom Mix and other stars of the screen for playing their favorite game. "We shall distribute at least J5.0C0 a day in the 100 days of racing, with liberal slakes throughout the season," said secretary Talbott "I am confident that many of the largest stables in the country will ship to our plant." Talbott was associated with W. W. Finn for many years in promoting race meetings in various sections of the United States and is a thorough going business man. They had control of the successful meeting at Reno two years ago. The Southern California Jockey Club was I incorporated in March under the laws of j California. Talbott said announcement would I be made soon of the financiers and business men of Los Angeles who are backing the track venture.
