TRY MAN KWAR YEARLINGS Coming Young Racers of W. M. Jeffords and Glen Riddle Farm Stables Given Final Trials. BALTIMORE, Md Oct 25. The W. M. Jeffords and Glen Riddle stables yearlings were tried out yesterday over the track at the farm at Berlin, .Md. Bob Smith, who looks after the Jeffords string, and W. LI Snyder, assistant trainer to Gwynn Tompr kins, accompanied by jockeys E. Ambrose, W. Obert, C. Taylor, and an exercise lad, made the trip over from Laurel to assist in the trials. Mr. and Mrs. -Jeffords and Mr. and Mrs. Riddle were on hand to witness the moves of the youngsters and both were well pleased with the speed shown by a majority of them. Twenty-four in all were given their final trials before being put away for the winter and a colt from Understudy is said to have shown up the best." The track was heavy, rut despite this all of them showed quarters as good as 24 and a majority of them around 23 and 23. The Riddle and Jeffords youngsters are by Man o War and Gold Broom. James. Maddux, who was.responsible for Mr. Riddle having purchased Man o War as a yearling, was on hand to witness the trials.
