Devonshire, a handsome j ; bay son of Gainsborough and Fortuna. which j i fared the barrier but a few times last year, j at this time appears to be the best of the i string and heads the list of those that have been named for the principal events. I I Devonshire races under the silks of Mr. ; I Salmon and is being pointed for the renewal i i of the Kentucky Derby. The imported young-titer I has grown and developed over the win- j | ter and has shown trainer Healey sufficient to warrant the belief that he has a good colt.1 Campfiro Tales, which won the Helpful J . Stakes at lMmlico iast fall from a bulky field! of two-year-olds, is the hope of the Wilson I I division. Campfire Tales has shown a dis-j position to finish fast through the latter part of a race and is well suited over long distances of ground. IHMim AND TRIP LIGHTLY. Primrose and Trip Lightly head the three- : year-old fillies and have been named for the ;, majority of the stakes. ! The two-year-olds are being schooled fcr barrier education. They are a handsome M ! band and showed effects of many trips to the ! barrier. They begin in good alignment and 1 gallop impressively. | The English importations which were - brought v r late last fall and the homebred stock are pronounced among the best that have wintered at the big Nassau county course. The two-year-olds are gocd lookers 5 and have plenty of bone and muscle. They have done well in their training and high 1 hopes are entertained for their future. j A division from both stables will be chosen 1 ; ! during the next week and will be shipped to Havre de Grace for an early campaign. • The band which raced at Miami during the ; winter months is at present at Bowie in 1 charge of J. Pryce and will join the Havre ; de Grace division on the close of that meeting. The horses shipped well from the Florida "i course and no sickness was reported on arrival. Jockey J. Maiben. who is at present M at the Maryland course, will do most of the, si riding. John T. Kermath. who has the steeplechase " , division of W. J. Salmon, is quartered at Belmont Park. The stable will be shipped to Pimlico to participate in the cross-country events to be decided at that point. Dunks Green, the best jumper in the lot during last summer, is beinn pointed for a renewal j of the Manly Memorial, which will be run , this spring. The horses have been given their exercise over the Terminal course and I are close to racing condition. I
