TORONTO RACING MAY 22 Woodbine Inaugurates Sport at Canadian City — Mile Track at Long Branch Ready. a TORONTO, Ont.. April 1J. With the completion of the mile track tit Long Branch dtites have been arranged for -the first summer meeting there and at Dufferin Bark whereby horsemen will have twenty-eight days consecutive racing in Toronto. T*hc local season opens at Woodbine on May 22. the Ontario Jockey Club meeting lasting for a week, when it will be followed by Thorn -cliffe Bark from May 31 to June 7. Then comes the meeting at Long Branch from Jure !» to June 16. followed by one at Pufferin Bark from June 1! to June 26. At Windsor the horsemen will have three weeks consecutive racing. the Windsor Jockey Club opening on June 29 and the meeting lasting a week, followed by Devonshire Bark from July 7 to July 14. and then comes the Kenilworth Jockey Club with their meeting starting on July 17 and lasting for a week. Approximately 00,000 will be distributed in purses and stakes to the horsemen in Toronto during the twenty-eight days racing here, while another 50,000 will be shared by the horsemen at Windsor during the three weeks of the sport there. The mile track at Long Branch is in splendid condition and owners and trainers are assured that they will find it one of the best race tracks in the country.
