WOODBINE TURF NOTES TORONTO Ont May 26 Torrence a twoyearold Meridian filly in the stable of E K Salt was taken down with fever after her last race here a few days ago agoW W G Wilson has had a couple of offers for the plater Paddle He is wanted as a hunter Paddle is a good fencer but a bad post horse horseJockey Jockey F Hastings was an arrival from New York He came up to ride Listerine in the Coronation Stakes and returned to New York tonight tonightJoseph Joseph McLennan who will act as racing secretary at i horncliffe was an arrival He was at the track looking after the closing of tne stakes to be run at the Hamilton and Windsor meetings McLennan has been en ¬ gaged in an official capacity at both of these places He will also act as racing secretary at the Ottawa meeting Thomas Gorman will be here some time during the Thorn cliff c meeting to consult with McLennan regarding the book of the meeting which will be issued in a couple of weeks weeksMr Mr Pepp came out of his race yesterday with a spread hoof This will mean that he will be an absentee from the races for a couple of weeks at least
