NOSE DIVE OMAHA FAILURE Jack Fairman Repeats His Recent . Triumph Oyer Favorite in the Main Race at Ak-Sar-Ben. OMAHA, Neb., June 14. The speedy Jack Fairman, an outsider in the wagering, won the best race on the Ak-Sar-Ben Field card today by two lengths from Optimist, with Captain Adams third. The race was the fifth on the" program and Nose Dive" which the winner had defeated recently, was made odds-on choice. He ran a bad race and, after racing in second place to the stretch, quit: and finished badly beaten. The winner, as usual, went to the front early and, after taking-a long lead on the back stretch, jockey Hughes took him under restraint and rated him in frontto the finish. The weather was good, but the track was slow and only a fair crowd was out to witness the program. Lent .found the track to his liking and took the first race. He led for the entire distance. Aurania finished second and Fore Gold came strong through the stretch, to be third. Lady LeBand proved a surprise in the second race. She was not given much consideration by the talent, but took command soon after the start -and held sway to the finish. Out of Sight and Roper finished closest to her in that order. The third race proved a little more than an exercise gallop for James B. Brown. The track was in his favor and he quickly sprinted into a good lead, which he held. Nan McKinney bested Korbly in the battle for second place. The Falconer; which was a big surprise yesterday, came back again in todays race and showed another return to his bad form, much to the chagrin of the majority of fans who backed him. He failed to display much of the speed which he showed yesterday and, after racing in second position to the stretch, stopped badly. Shasta Irish won the race, from The Franciscan, but many considered him lucky, as the latter appeared to have lasted. Green Spring was third.
