Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. GREYFACE, close up from, the start, challenged the leaders at the head of the stretch and, taking the lead, held sway to the end. SnASTA LOVE gained gradually and, coming fast through the stretch, outfinished CHEVAL through the last eighth. CHEVAL began fast and raced close up all the way. WOOD CRICKET acted badly at the post and delayed the start, then ran well. FALLEN LEAF showed much speed for a half mile before tiring. EVA M. was racing in close quarters on the back stretch, when she stumbled and fell. TREVIS was unable to avoid EVA M. and fell over her. ARCH DUCHESS rushrd into the lead quickly and set a good pace to the stretch and. withstanding challenges fxom JOYOUS, held the latter safe in a long and hard drive. JOYOUS challenged the leader after entering the stretch and forced her to do her best for a time. BETTY BROWNING also showed much f-perd in racing close up all the way and raced well to outfinish GRETA. .The latter had bo mishaps and only raced fairly well. LOUISVILLE AND NASHVILLE raced close np to the stretch turn, then joined the leaders and. challenging POST MISTRESS when an eighth out. ontfinished her in a long drive. POST MISTRESS took the lead after racing a half mile, but began tiring and gave way to the winner. CHICK UP came fast through the stretch and outfinished POCKET MOUSE. The latter showed the most early speed, but began tiring and was done in the stretch. DEADFALL also showed early speed and tired. VILLAGER raced far back to the far turn, then began gaining and, saving much ground on the Inside on the stretch turn, got up in the last eighth to win going away. SWEEP-NET raced close np and took the lead in the stretch, hut was unable to withstand the winner at the end. OPEN FIRE raced well throughout. TICK TOCK closed a gap in the stretch. RUTH GOLD raced into the lead and set a good pace for three-quarters before tiring. SWEEPSTAKES and CHIEF SABBATUS were done after going a half mile.
