BLUE BONNETS NOTES ? MONTREAL, Que., June 17. The French-bred mare Nozieres, which. i3 named as a starter in the Windsor Hotel Cup on Saturday, was bred to Epinard last year but failed to be in foal. She was then put back in training and has shown some trials this spring. Jockey Josiah reported sick to the clerk of the scales and cancelled his engagements this afternoon. At the conclusion of the meeting Stanley Gillespie will depart for Hamilton, where he will act as assistant racing secretary to Joseph McLennan. Dr. Sanford. who is interested in the horses that F. M. Kelly is campaigning on the Canadian circuit, was an arrival from Glen Cove, L. I. He will probably remain until the conclusion of the Blue Bonnets meeting. Thomas J. Healey, accompanied by jockey J. Maiben, came up from Belmont Park for the opening days sport at Blue Bonnets. At the conclusion of the afternoons racing they returned to New York. Maiben rode Black Friar, Quadrille and Powhatan. lie has fully recovered from the injuries he sustained when Ursa Major fell with him at Pimlico and is now lighter than he has been in some time. Capt. H. R. A. West is racing at Blue Bonnets again after an absence of some thirteen years. In the interim he has been racing abroad and also on the New York tracks. Captain West has brought over some pretty shifty racers from the other side at different times. W. W. Lyles, who acted as presiding steward at the Mount Royal meeting, announced that the ruling made against Faith W. was for that meeting only. The entry of the maro was refused for inconsistent running. Among the visitors from New York were William Wick and Dr. Sullivan. The latter has two horses in the J. Simon Healy stable, Hobcaw and The Code. Wick raced a stable on the Canadian circuit for several years in charge of R. McKeever. Gene Bury, who acted as racing secretary at Connaught Park, was a visitor. Among the horsemen who have already reserved stabling at Hamilton with judge Gillies are R. Z. Jenkins, P. Gorman, W. H. Wright, P. L. Ciceri, R. W. R. Cowie, C. Robson, H. C. Hatch, H. Giddings, J. Rowan, O. B. Burkart, T. J. Donohue, Harbor Stable, J. E. Smallman, F. M. -Kelly. W. J. Mclllmurray, J. P. Smith, J. J. Murphy and the Seagram Stable.
