TWINKLING was hard ridden throughout, forced the pace to the stretch, and passed SHASTA BULLET to win going away. The latter raced close up; but lacked racing room until nearing the last eighth, then finished fast, outgaming BEGGAR BOY. BEGGAR BOY showed the most speed for the first four and a half furlongs and raced gamely, but was outfinislied in the final drive. THE MAJOR improved his position on the outside and finished fast. RUANE raced well all the way and, coming with a rush, easily outfinished MALLARDS MEMORY. The latter raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch, then began tiring. CANDY ROCK tired near the end and barely lasted to outfinish BEGONIA. The latter raced fairly well. MISS MAGGIE showed early speed and quit.
