LADIES DAY AT AK-SAR-BEN Program of Claiming Races Lafe M., Levulose and Charles Whitney Among Winners. OMAHA, Neb., June 20. Small fields went to the post in the races at Ak-Sar-Ben Field this afternoon, all the races being of the claiming variety. The thoroughbreds that started produced some good contests, however, and an exceptionally large week-day crowd was present. Ladies Day swelled the gathering considerably, as the fair fans turned out in large numbers Charles Whitney finally found a spot to his liking and won the first race, when he came from behind in the stretch to catch the tiring Quintana Roo. Queen Bess won the second race. After racing with Satan for half the journey, she drew out in the stretch and had enough left to hold Happy Top safe. Balefull, the favorite, was third. Lafe M. led all the way in the third race and won by a length from John Hager, a first-time starter at the meeting. Betty Haskell was third. Levulose made a show of her opponents in the. fourth race and won by many lengths from Black Prince. Menage finished third.
