FOR FRONTIER HANDICAP Peanuts, Single Foot and Roi des Montagnes, Big Winners Saturday, Among the Entries. DETROIT, Mich., June 20. Three of the nominees for the .0,000 Frontier Handicap, to be run on the opening day of the Windsor Jockey Club meeting, July 14, were winners of important stakes in various turf centers last week-end. They were : R. L. Gerrys gallant little colt Peanuts, J. E. Griffiths Single Foot and the Carlton Stables imported gelding Roi des Montagnes. Peanuts, with 112 pounds in the saddle, captured the historic Brooklyn Handicap, with 2,500 added, at Aqueduct in impressive manner. In his wake were such grand performers as the champion Crusader and Display. Ambassadors fleet-footed son negotiated the mile and an eighth, the Frontier distance, in 1 :48. Single Foot won the ,000 Enquirer Handicap at Latonia "from an excellent field, including Canter, Cotlogomor, also a Frontier Handicap eligible, and Percentage. Over a slow track the mile and a sixteenth was run by Single Foot in 1 :48, Roi des Montagnes victory was at Blue Bonnets, Montreal, Que., where he annexed the ,000 Windsor Handicap, at a mi.e and ah eighth, also over a heavy track, in 1 :55. Harry Baker, also a Frontier Handicap entry, finished third to Roi des Montagnes in this fixture.. Thurber piloted Peanuts, M. Garner, with 119 pounds, was.astride Single Foot, and Bourassa, carrying 108 pounds, had the leg up on Roi des Montagnes.
