Won easily; second and third driving. PUG be,gan fast, but was taken under restraint until just before reaching the stretch turn, where he saved ground and, taking the lead, came away in the stretch. FAIR GOLD ran a good race, set the early pace, then raced prominently to the end. BESOM dropped hack on the stretch turn, but came again in the last eighth. SCARLET STAR raced forwardly most of the way. AMBITIOUS began tiring in the last eighth. NINETEEN SIXTY was taken back sharply just before reaching the stretch turn. EDITH 1. unseated her rider while on the way to the post, ran away three and one-half miles and was withdrawn by permission. RBNBAUG showed the most early speed, but began tiring in the last sixteenth. FREYA began slowly, but saved much ground on the last turn, and finished with a rush. SILVER WINGS was ridden wide on the turns. LADY LURA quit in the stretch. PORTO DE ORO ran a poor race. JOAN DALBRET moved up fast in the stretch, but was forced out a trifle near the end. then was going faster than the leader. HOT SPOT ran a good race and finished well. THE HEATHEN was away well, but was forced back when he got into close quarters on the first turn and tired in the stretch. CHAIRMAN was going fast at the end after closing a big gap. The latter also raced far back- for the first mile and came fast through the stretch. STARBRIGHT ran a fine race and only tired in the last sixteenth. BE YOUHSELF had no mishaps.
