• At Bowie One Best Bet — CARE FREE — In the Third Race. ; 1 t l r f a, c . I [ i • . : , A good card has been arranged for Mondays racing at the Bowie track. The old Virginia Purse, for four-year-olds and over, at one mile and seventy yards, brings the best field to the pest. Six are entered in this race, and they will be asked to contest under allowance conditions. The fourth race, named the Magnolia Purse, also brings a good field to the post. This race is restricted to three-year-olds, ten starters having been entered in the overnight entries. They will be asked to traverse the one mile distance under allowance conditions. Platers will make up the rest of the program. Large fields are entered in all of the claiming races, but some interesting racing is looked for, as the horses entered are rather evenly matched. REA— BLANDRIS— FILL D. Of the eighteen two-year-old maidens en-trred in Um first race REA gets the call for the winners end of the purse. The filly raced well in her first start, after being a little slow in getting started. She should improve over that race and, we think, she can take the measure of the cheap band entered here. BLANDRIS in one of his races at Jefferson Park showed a good turn of speed and, on that rare, figures to be a eont nder. FILL D. had a campaign at Tijuan-i and, as he is a seasoned colt, he gets the call for the show money. Jl ME— DANGEROl S KITTY— GLOWING. Another large band of maidens will hook up in the second face. JUNIE may be the one to get out of the non-winners ranks. She finished a close-up third to B"lai dOr in handing this field a sound beating. DANGEROUS KITTY has not been seen under colors since last fall but, on the way she has been training, she seems to be on edge for one of her best races at the first asking. GLOWIXi ; also has been turning in some fast morning trials and. should she race to her workouts, will have to be considered a contender. CARE FREE— ALEX WOODLIFFE— THE MAPLE. The consistent plater CARE FREE appears i to be placed well in the third race. In his first start of the y ar he only lost by a head I to Highland Chief after leading right up to ■ the finish. He may have needed that race for a tightener and we think he will take plenty of beating from this field. ALEX I WOODLIFFE, though he will be making his s initial start of the year, figures to give ! CARE FREE the most argument. He has i been training well and is ready for one of his ; good races. THE MAPLE may be good 1 i I I s ! i ; 1 enough to hold the short end of the purse safe from the rest of the field. LA MORTE— AUCILLA— WILLIE X. The best field of the day will parade to the post in the fourth race. H. G. Bedwells LA MORTE may be the one to be home the winner. He was a trifle short in his first start, but we look for him to show some of his old-time form in leading this field to the wire. AUCILLA figures to make LA MORTE race at his best to win. AUCILLA is meeting horses of his own class here and he figures to be a dangerous contender all the way. WILLIE K. has but to race to his true form to be able to fill the three-hole. CORPORAL— WELLET— MANCHU. CORPORAL seems to hold a slight edge In the Magnolia Purse. He beat practically the same field that will oppose him here in his last start and, though he will be asked to go a little farther, we look for him to turn in another winning effort. WELLET, which raced well during the winter meeting at New Orleans, should cause CORPORAL the most trouble. He is a seasoned racer and this should be to his advantage. MANCHU was the one to follow CORPORAL home in their meeting last week. On .that race he has to be given a good chance for some part of the purse. MEMORY may prove dangerous. FOREHEAD— FIREDOG— TRAPSTOCK. In the sixth race FOREHEAD is given the call. She turned in a good win in her first start over this track and has but to duplicate that effort to prove winner here. FIREDOG, which also was returned a winner in his first start here, looms as the most dangerous contender. He is picking up eight pounds over that race, but it should not stop him from being a strong contender. TRAPSTOCK during his races at the Fair Grounds showed to good advantage and a race to his usual form should find him landing close up in this field. ZEOD— ROWLANDS REQUEST— ROYAL FLAG. The concluding race ©n the card looks like the spot for ZEOD to turn in one of his win-i ning races. He raced well in his first start to finish second to Just Folks. He has but to show a slight improvement over that race to be home the winner here. ROWLAND S REQUEST gets the call for the place money. He showed he has lost none of his old time form in his race last week and will be hard to keep out of the picture should he race back to his last effort. ROYAL FLAG, on his Havana races, has to be given a chance to finish among the pay-off horses.
