DISTRIBUTES OVER A MILLION - « Tijuana Jockey Clubs Daily Average Is ,918.04. * It. C. Stable Heads List of inning Owners With 6,560— Crystal Pennant AVins Total of 5,650. ♦ The Tijuana meeting, now history, was marked chiefly by the great sum of money distributed among the horsemen who raced their stables at the Mexican course. During one hundred and fifteen days of racing, the Tijuana Jockey Club paid out to winning owners the staggering amount of ,025,575, a daily average of ,918.04. Beginning November 24, the meeting extended to and ended Sunday. April 1, with the Tijuana Futurity as the final attraction. During that period 1.010 races were decided. The percentage of winning favorites was below normal, only thirty-five per cent of the first choices being successful. The R. C. Stable, the star of which Is Crystal Pennant, headed the list of winning owners through the prowess and speed of the son of Pennant. Without Crystal Pennant the R. C. Stable would have fared poorly indeed. Victory in the Coffroth Handicap was worth 2,700, and this great amount substracted from the stables total of 6,360 would have left the Ventura establishment well down towards the bottom. Other owners who fared exceptionally well were the Canyon Stable with 4,770 ; Mrs. C. B. Irwin, 0,440; M. E. Syufy. 0,725; Three Ds Stock Farm Stable, 1.7S0 ; H. E. Brown Stock Farm Stable, 2,230 and B. Creech, 6,600. Crystal Pennant, because of his Coffroth Handicap victory, not only placed his owners name at the head of the money winning owners, but his own name as well at the head of the list of money winning horses. His total of 5,650 was greatly in excess of Doctor Wilsons, the latter having earned 3,930, the greater part of it through the victory in the Tijuana Derby. Spooky, Tijuana Futurity winner, won *10,9S0. Handy Mandy, Tijuana Cup winner, earned 1,700 and Shasta Bullet, the consistent sprinter, won five races for a total of 0,925. C. B. Irwin showed the same skill which has always characterized his training at Tijuana, and finished the meeting far in advance of his rivals with fifty-five winners. M. E. Syufy with thirty-two was next, while others who had more tlian usual success was Stuart Polk with twenty-five ; H. E. Brown, nineteen ; G. W. Coburn, twenty-one ; B. Creech, fifteen ; R. Z. Jenkins, thirteen ; and E. E. Watson with eighteen. Seven stake races were decided, the Coffroth Handicap, Tijuana ~up. Tijuana Derby, Tijuana Futurity, New Years Handicap, Tijuana Oaks, and Speed Handicap. Following are the owners whose horses 1 won ,000 or more each : Owner. 1st. 2d. 3d. Aint. R.
