COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 10.— Jess Burks saddled Le Voyant, which beat the best field starting at Beulah Park this afternoon in the seventh race. Overdraft set out to make a runaway affair of the race, but Le Voyant, after avoiding the early pace, wore down the pacemaker in" the stretch and was drawing away at the end. Overdraft proved much the best of the others, however. My Destiny was used up in forcing the early pace, tired and bore out in the stretch, which enabled Grass Maid to head her in the final strides for third. Another large crowd witnessed the sport, which was staged under favorable conditions. Several of the finishes were of the thrilling variety and many of the winners returned handsome dividends, coming from unexpected quarters. W. C. Trover finally won a purse when Out Step took the measure of some good sprinters in the fifth race, the secondary feature. Polar Sea shovvee" the way until midway of the stretch, but Out Step, finishing with a brilliant rush from the rear, passed the Haughton representative in the last few yards. Miss Emma outstayed the tiring Zefine for third. Al Hotfoot showed a similar effort when he finished with rare courage on the outside in the final eighth of the third race and got up in the last strides. Sky Flight had no opposition for second, as Cinch, the pacemaker, tired badly and just saved third. Mally S. and Ann Grogan led throughout in their respective races. The former won with ease, but Ann Grogan was doing her best at the end to stall off Easter Laddie, wth Wiskey Run a close-up third. Steinway provided a real surprise when he ran away from his opponents with little effort in the last quarter of the second race. Ombrage, well up throughout, saved second from the fast-finishing Rotarian. Ima Fox, the favorite, all but fell while on the first turn. When Rosabella led throughout by a comfortable I margin to win the sixth race it | marked the initial success of the meeting for j I EL E. Brown. Brown Iead always held a | safe margin over Foreclose, but the others were outpaced. * . — —
