LONG POINT raced in close pursuit of WHIZZING CLOUD for a quarter, then raced into a slint lead while rounding the last turn, although running out badly, then drew away and was easing up at the end. HIGHLAND CHIEF dropped back while rounding the last turn, but came again and finished resolutely on the outside. JOYOUS made a challenge and drew up on almost equal terms with the winner, but tired in the last quarter. WHIZZING CLOUD quit after going five-eighths. HONEYCO and REFORM ran poorly in the going.
