At Aurora One Best Bet — EAGER — In the Sixth Race. Friday is Bremen Flyers Day at Aurora, i The Atlantic flyers, who are now the honored 1 guests of the city of Chicago, wTill be given ] their due at the Exposition Park oval when i all of the races, with the exception of two, 1 are appropriately named to further honor the i intrepid airmen. ., The feature number is called the Junkers rinne Handicap and is a three-quarters dash engaging a crack band of sprinters. The sensational Prisoner is top weight of the 1 party and is expected to run his string of 1 victories to three in a row. The contention • should come from Sixty and Hot Time. The Baron von Hucnefeld Purse is to be run as 1 the fourth event, and is over the mile and 5 seventy yards distance. The Major Fitz- 1 maurice and the Captain Koehl Purses are t to be run as the sixth and seventh races, re- 1 spective!y, and both of these are over the 1 mile and a sixteenth distance. Good fields 1 are to contest in all three of the above mini- bers and some interesting sport is in pros- ■ pect. ! Two-year-olds hook up in the Atlantic Flight Purse, a four and a half furlongs dash, which will be run as the third event. Wood-face should not have much difficulty in add- ; ing this purse to his credit. Rain visited these parts yesterday, but it is not expected to hinder the going to any great ; extent. Unless more rain falls, the racing • strip should be just a trifle slow. TWELVE SIXTY— DETEEMAX-XATIOXAL BRICK. A cheap band of maiden three-year-olds and over will open the days sport with a dash over the five and a half furlongs distance. "We are looking for the winner to turn up in TWELVE SIXTY. In his first start, after getting away poorly, he closed a big gap to finish a fast-going fourth. He has but to get away with the leaders here and : show the same kind of speed as in his last race to turn in a winning effort. DETER-MAX, on his last race, has to be given a good chance for some part of the purse, for he seems to be not far from winning form. NATIONAL BRICK turned in an improved race the last time out and, should he be able to duplicate that performance, will most likely prove a contender. HAWES— FOREBEC— FORCE. The second race brings to the post a band of three-year-olds to try conclusions over the three-quarters distance. The consistent plater HAWES gets the call for the major portion of the purse. He seems to have lost none of his form which he displayed at Tijuana the past winter — for his first start over this track was a good third to Silent Lillian. A race at his best should bring him home in front, for the field opposing him are horses of his own class. The distance was a little too long for FOREBEC the last time out but, with the distance more to his liking today, he should prove dangerous all the way. FORCE gets the call over the remainder of the field for the show money. WOODFACE— BLACK DARLING-BOUNCING BALL. Of the thirteen two-year-olds which are entered in the Atlantic Flight Purse, a dash over the four and one-half furlongs distance, to be decided as the fourth race, WOOD-FACE looks much the best. The filly turned in a good win the last time out and, though she is asked to carry eight pounds more today, we look for her to again prove the winner. BLACK DARLING was the one to follow WOODFACE home the other day and he seems to be the one that will cause her the i 1 ] i 1 i ., 1 1 • 1 5 1 t 1 1 1 ■ ! ; ; • : most trouble again, for he seems to be In his best form at the present. BOUNCING BALL can do better than his last race would indicate and he should be able to account for the short end of the purse should he race in his true style. MOROCCO— JOHN JOHNSON JR.— XTRA. The fourth race, the Baron von Huene-feld Purse, has attracted a well-matched band of platers to make the running. MOROCCO, which won his first start here in such easy fashion, is picked as a repeater, and he needs but to race back to his last effort to be able to ae-count for the winners share of the purse. He may have to race at his best, for JOHN JOHNSON JR. figures to give him a hard-fought battle for top honors. The gelding is asked to carry ten pounds more than MOROCCO and this may prove too much of a handicap for him, however. XTRA appears third best, for the way she has been working out would incidate that she is ready for one of her best races. PRISONER— HOT TIME— SIXTY. In the Junkers Plane Handicap we are selecting the two-time winner PRISONER to turn the trick again. This colt has come back to the races this year in great style and he only has to put forth his usual efforts today to be the one to score. He is picking up some weight over his last two winning efforts, but the manner in which he won those two races was such to suggest that the added poundage will make little difference to him. HOT TIME finished behind PRISONER in their last meeting and is favored to do the same thing today. The Joliet Stable racer has a habit of winning every now and then, and if an upset should occur we look for this one to furnish it. SIXTY is capable of much better racing than he has shown here to date. He is due to show some improvement, and today may be the day. FLORENCE MILLS should not be entirely ignored. She may need this race, however. EAGER— GREAT LUCK— TREASURER. We look for EAGER to prove the winner of the Major Fitzmaurice Purse. The Fair Play gelding has a second and a third to his credit in his two starts over this track and, with his favorite impost today and the class of horses he is meeting, shoultl prove the easiest winner on the card. GREAT LUCK was a mighty useful racer at Havana and she continued on her winning ways by annexing her first start here. She should furnish the bulk of the contention today. TREASURER could not get going in his first start here. We expect him to show to much better advantage today. His chances would be enhanced if the going was muddy or heavy. GR1EGO— HEC— ROCK CANDY. The last race turned in by GRIEGO was such to suggest that he is going to be a hard horse to beat in the Captain Koehl Purse, the concluding event on the program. He raced Nose Dive to a nose decision and would possibly have won in another stride or two. That race should have put him right on edge for todays start and we look for him to get home an easy winner. HEC has landed in front in both of his races here and is apt to prove a real danger today. From a time standpoint, GRIEGOS race was the best, however, and therefore gets the call. ROCK CANDY is in his best form at the present and should land close up when the finish is reached. SANDRAE is getting weight off in todays race and may cause all sorts of trouble.
