At Aurora One Best Bet — SENATOR SETH — In the Fourth Race. A typical Monday offering is on tap at Aurora today, platers being to the fore in each number. Each of the seven races carded carry the claiming clause and the poorer grade of horses are to be seen in action in the majority of the events. A fairly good and possibly the best field of the day is to hook up in the fourth number, a five and a half furlongs dash. This race brings Senator Seth to the post, and he looks all over the winner at this writing. The contention should be offered by Ycshell, Stampdalc, Mcriwick, Blushing Maiden and Conquistador. The Jones racer only has to perform in his usual style to beat this field with ease, for lie gets in with a favorable impost and is in his best form at the present time. There are three distance events on todays card, two at a mile and seventy yards and I one at a mile and a sixteenth. Two-yeai -olds arc to hook up in a four and a half furlongs dash, while there are two five and a half furlongs sprints and one at three-quarters of a mile. TWENTY ONE SIXTY— LILA «.— L ; AR.NET. Three-year-. Uls of the plater class will opt n the days racing with a dash over the five and one-half furlongs distance. TWENTY ONE SIXTY may be the one to prove best, taking a line on his last race when he turned in a good effort, only to tire right at the finish. With the shorter distance today we look for him to withstand any rush from any of the field to beat him to the wire. LILA G.. which raced rather consistently-over the Jefferson Park track the past winter, should be able to get in the money. AL GARNET turned in a good enough effort in his last race to warrant him a chance for the short end of the purse. JESSIE BELLE— SILVER QUKLN— TWELVE SIXTY. The limit number of starters are entered in the second race, with JESSIE BELLE appearing the winner. The filly turned in a good effort in her last trip to the races and she needs but to turn in another race like that one to beat this field. She is getting weight off from her last race and this also should be to her advantage in proving best. SILVER QUEEN figures to b? a contender for she showed in her last race that she has rounded into her best form. TWELVE SIXTY, a winner the last time out. figures best of the rest of the field for the short end of the purse, with QUIN CHIN and SINCERELY as probable contenders. FUSS— OM ARDALE— PEtJGY LEE. For the winner of the two-year-old tilt we are selecting the gelding FUSS, lb- turn.] in a winning effort in his last start over about the same class of horses as he is meeting here and, as lie is getting eleven pounds off over that race, he needs but to race in his best style to again proe the winner. The most dangerous contender appears in OMAR-DALE, for the filly turned in a good race behind Wood face the other day and she has but to race as well here to be dangerous all the way. PEGGY LEE should be able to hold the short end of the purse safe from the rest of the field if she races in her best style. SENATOR SETH— BLUSHING 3IAIDEN— MKKIWICK. SENATOR SETH looks much the best of the nine starters entered in the fourth race, which calls for a sprint over the five and a half furlongs distance. The gelding won both of his starts over this track, beating good fields in each instance. We look for him to prove the best bet of the day in turning in another win here. BLUSHING MAIDEN won more than her share of races while racing over the New Orleans tracks during the winter months and, on the form she displayed there, she figures to prove dangerous for some part of the purse. MEUI-WICK may be the one to account for the show money, for a race at his b?st should land him up with the leaders. CATESB r— W APONOCA— JEM BAHLMAN. The fifth race seems to be a good spot for the gelding CATESBY to get down in front. His last two races would suggest that he is in his best form for, on both occasions, he landed in the mon«y. His race behind Dunbeath was a creditable effort and, as he is getting six pounds off over that race, we look for him to show his heels to this band. WAPONOCA found tli3 three-quarters distance too short for him in his last race but, with the route more to his liking toelay, he may be able to take tlown the place monev here. JIM DAHLMAN may be able to get in the pay-off, for he has been showing improvement in his races lure. i i SANBRAE— FRENCH LABY— LOYAL H. j | ! The J. W. Lewis gelding SANDRAE looms up as much the best in the sixth offering, over the mile and seventy yards distance. He has been coming along in good fashion of late and. against this company, should not have much difficulty in winning. He is to pack considerable weight today, but that should not make much difference as he has raced creditably at other times with the came impost. FRENCH LADY will be making her li.-st start of the year and, if she elects to race in her best style, may bo good enough to garner the place portion of the purse. Her workouts have been good and she only has to race back to her trials to prove a contender. LOYAL H. seems to be as good as another for the short end of the coin. JENNIFER— TOM BYRNE— QUICK ASSET. The lightly weighted JENNIFER is selected to win the final number on the card, a test of a mile and a sixteenth. The Castin-owned filly gets in with but ninety-three pounds today and, with that light impost, should prove the winner all the way. TOM BYRNE looms as the most probable contender, for he is in his. best form at the present, having won his last start in easy fashion. If he is in a running mood today we fear he will give JENNIFER somewhat of an argument QUICK ASSET graduate! from the maiden ranks in her last start and | may bear watching in this event, for she locked mighty good in her last performance.
