ZONTTE saved ground when rounding thp first turn, where the leaders ran wide, passed UPSTART In the stretch and won going away. UPSTART also saved nan h ground on the first turn and held second place safe at the end. FOXY PETER made the first turn better thnn the others and raced gamely in the final drive. FABER finished iV-tter than usual and out gamed WHITE NOSE. The latter showed early speed, but tired. MR. PLAID bad no mishaps. RED HOT ran out while rounding the second turn. FOLLOW ME saved ground when entering the stretch, where fhe leaders ran wide, and held the others safe. CANISTER saved ground on nil the turns, but could never get up. ANN GROCAN quit badly.
