JOCKEY L. FATOR REINSTATED NEW YORK. S. Y., May 23.— Laverne Fator. after apologizing to the clerk of the scale for his offensive language of Tuesday, was reinstated. Later the following was given out : "Regardless of what was said, the fundamental principle lies in the fact that the cletk of the scales is responsible to The Jockey Club, and al. o to the public, that the weights announced on the official program are carried and, if there is any overweight it is his duty to have it posted on the bulletin board before any transactions take place. While this is not a rule, it is nevertheless a regulation strictly adhered to for the past thirty years. "When jockey L. Fator was reprimanded by the clerk of the scales for his negligence in reporting his overweight, he assumed an attitude of insolent indifference, thereby setting an example for the other jockeys which might endanger the moral and discipline of the whole organization." The case was reported to the stewards by the clerk of the scales. The stewards promptly fined Fator JlOO and ordered his suspension until he made a due apology to the clerk of the scales. Later on Fator decided to listen to reason, said that he was sorry and his suspension "was immediately terminated.
