* CANADIAN TURF NOTES • — g TORONTO, Ont., May 24. Among the metropolitan sportsmen who contemplate shipping from New York to Montreal to participate in the meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club at Blue Bonnets ist Frank J. Kearns. Stalls have been reserved by secretary Louis Angevine for the Kearna racers and they are due to arrive in a week or ten days. W. J. Foley, who wintered his string ati Fort Erie, is here with neven horses. They came out of winter quarters looking big and fat. Wheatstick is one of the number. J. Mann is hre with the stable and will do the riding. Frank Byers was an arrival this week with the stable that the New York sportsman Edward Arlington will campaign in Canada this year. Byers immediately added Scat to the King Edward Hotel Gold Cup. C. B. Fleisehman, whose colors are carried by Suphratts, Hanky Rice and others, was an arrival Tuesday. The Fleisehman racers will make a summer campaign on the tracks of the Canadian Racing Associations. It was with much regret that the news of the death of George Jacoby was received by his many friends at the Woodbine. The late Mr. Jacoby was a valued employe of Mortimer Mahoney at the various tracks where he is in charge. Mr. Jacoby was a native of Oshawa, Ont. He was in fine health during the recent Pimlico meeting, but contracted pneumonia after his arrival from Maryland which resulted in his death.
